Damnit, Already!
I lost my thumb drive.
You know, the one you always keep with you and transfer data around on? The one that you don’t necessarily back up all the time, or ever (or is it just me?), the one that contains your budgets and future projections for when you’ll get out of debt, the one you check daily to keep you on track with your goals?
And it friggin’ sucks.
I’m not concerned with anyone finding it, I didn’t put any “secret” information on it like account logins or anything, but still, it’s alot of information that I’ve worked many hours collecting, organizing, presenting, all to make sure I have a nice outlook to look at when I needed it.
It’s depressing.
I’ve spent so many hours on it. I’ve looked everywhere for it, home, work, car… I don’t go anywhere else with it…
Christ, can things get worst right now?

Pick up several inexpensive ones - like the 512MB or 1GB ones for the quick and easy jobs. I have like three in my pocket at the office all the time - everyone know they can borrow one from me for a quick sneaker-net process. But then I keep one of my nicer drives on my key chain - that makes it harder to lose.
I have, like 5, of the little bastards lying around… None of which are the ones I want. The one I want has all my good stuff on it, and as… much… as… I… know… better, I never backed up.
Ugh, it’s time to go hang myself by a USB cable… –Mike

That sucks you lost it..It used to be losing your wallet was a major pain. Going into the future, its going to be that losing your data will end up being an even bigger hassle.

Did you keep it in your pockets? Check napping spots, or your pants in the closet.

Silly goose, that’s why I don’t keep my spreadsheets on my thumb drive anymore. It’s probably soon time to think about replacing my external hard drive, however :-( you know, before it spontaneously combusts and all that.
